Salt Creek Grille Review

July 24, 2020

“Complimentary” valet is a lie. I didn’t feel good pulling into the Salt Creek River Grille after seeing that sign. You’re tipping. There’s no escaping it. The minimum wage for those guys isn’t gonna get it done. I would have preferred to park my rented 2009 Nissan Versa myself but that’s besides the point. After receiving my green ticket from Pedro at the valet hut I was in. I was worried about being underdressed and upon entrance it was hard to tell if I was or not. That’s when I realized it… Salt Creek River Grille has an aesthetic problem. Is it fancy? Or is it a family restaurant? They don’t know. They had candles, but they were fake. They had seafood, but they also had a kids menu. The ambience was kinda nice I suppose. I wasn’t gonna say no to a rendition of “Happy Birthday” whilst laying into some cornbread appetizer. That brings us to the food. It was good, but it wasn’t amazing. What really got me was the prices. We were all over the place. $51 for a steak, $12 for a sandwich, and everywhere in between. I mean wtf is this Old Chicago or am I here for a company event? DECIDE!! Once Salt Creek River Grille can do this, they’ll be on the right track.
